        Personalized Stretching Coach

For Athletes, Teams, and Everyday People

        Request a Consult
      • I help athletes like you prevent injuries and increase range of motion so you can perform better, recover faster, and feel good in your body ๐Ÿคธ

Stretching is fundamental to having a body that functions properly, stays injury free, and just feels good. Millions of people are living in chronic pain because their muscles, tendons or ligaments are just too tight. A few conditions that can be caused by tightness are: tendonitis, pinched nerves, plantar fasciitis, headaches, herniated discs, and low back pain.

I'm here to be your personalized stretching coach. I'll teach you the best stretches to help heal injuries and eliminate pain in your body.

        Are you an Athlete?

I define athlete in a way that is more encompassing than the dictionary definition.

Athlete: anyone that participates in sports or other physically intense activities, or has participated in these activities in the past.

In other words, I believe โ€œonce an athlete, always an athleteโ€. Examples of people I consider to be athletes:

        • Played sports in high school โ›น๏ธ
        • Long distance runners ๐Ÿƒ and cyclists ๐Ÿšด
        • (Ex) Military ๐Ÿช–, Police ๐Ÿš“, Firefighter ๐Ÿš’, etc
        • Rock climbers ๐Ÿง—, body builders ๐Ÿ‹, weekend soccer players โšฝ
        • Hair braiders ๐Ÿชฎ, Nurses ๐Ÿง‘โ€โš•๏ธ, Construction workers ๐Ÿ‘ท

I use this broader definition because there are many people that used to be athletes, who remember feeling strong, fast, and athletic. And they want to feel like that again. There are also many people whose jobs require intense physical training and activity, just like athletes. But age, injuries, and/or repetitive motions have caused pain, tension, and tightness. I want to help everyone feel good in their body, and acknowledge that many more people are athletes than is commonly assumed. I take a more holistic perspective about all the athletic activities you do, and any injuries youโ€™ve experienced in the past.

      • Benefits of Stretching

"Stretching is the fountain of youth"

        Improved range of motion ๐Ÿคธ

Stretching helps restore the natural flexibility we had as children, allowing our joints to move more freely. Watch any young child moving around, and you'll see them comfortably move in ways that may seem impossible for you. Our bodies and joints are designed to move easily with full range, and stretching can help your body rediscover that.

        Pain relief ๐Ÿ˜Œ

When we sit in a chair for hours a day, 5 days a week, our muscles get stiff. When we perform repetitive motions over long periods of time such as typing, throwing a baseball, or riding a bike, then our muscles can get over used, tighten up, and be more prone to injury. Stretching can alleviate the pain and stiffness caused by prolonged sitting, repetitive motions, or other injuries, by helping your muscles unlock & relax.

        Enhanced blood flow ๐Ÿ’ช

Stretching increases blood circulation, which promotes better health & well being. Unlocking tight muscles often leads much greater blood flow in muscles that may have been deprived for years. Be sure to rest and drink plenty of water after a stretching session to help support your body.

        Injury prevention ๐Ÿ›ก

When your muscles are tight and stiff, you are more likely to get injured. Improving your flexibility and range of motion helps you move better, maintain better balance, and recover faster from any injuries that may happen.

        Adaptable to everyone ๐ŸŽ›

The UHP stretching system is adaptable to all ages, fitness levels, and ranges of motion. Whether you're an athlete, a desk worker, a senior citizen, a mom or a dad, Coach Kyanna can adapt stretches to your needs, and help assist with any movements.

      • How It Works

        1

        Call ๐Ÿ“ฑ

You'll start by having a 15 minute call with Jacob, my business partner (aka my husband). He'll make sure the service is right for you, and if so, schedule your initial stretching session.

        2

        Pay ๐Ÿ’ฒ

After the call, Jacob will send you an invoice & waiver. Once you've paid & signed, we will confirm your appointment.

        3

        Stretch ๐Ÿ’ช

Your initial stretching session will start with a range of motion assessment, to identify which areas need the most attention. Then we will move on to deeper stretching to relieve your tension. This may include how to use props for trigger point release, as appropriate. Weโ€™ll make sure that you understand each stretch and how you can fit stretching into your busy day. Please wear loose comfortable clothes so that you can move around easily.

      • Testimonials

โ€œMy back used to go out a few times a year, such that I could barely walk, and my hips were crooked. But since I started working with Kyanna more than 3 years ago, my back has been great, my hips feel more relaxed, and my low back pain is goneโ€

        โ€” Jacob

โ€œI had some tightness on the left side of my neck that had been there for years. After one stretching session with Kyanna, we eliminated that neck tension.โ€

        โ€” Adam

โ€œI needed to have hip surgery for recurring pain, and I heard that your mobility going in to joint surgery is the best determination for your range of motion after surgery. Iโ€™m an active senior, and I didnโ€™t want surgery to affect that. Stretching with Kyanna helped improve my mobility before surgery, and made my recovery after surgery much easier.โ€

        โ€” Helen
